Jalandhar, June 17 : Concerned over the detection of swine flu cases among students, who recently visited NASA in the US, the state government has ordered mandatory check-up of students returning from foreign tours.
State Government has issued instructions to all District Education Officers (DEOs) for mandatory check-up of students returning from educational tours abroad, Punjab Health Minister Laxmikanta Chawla who visited the Civil Hospital here to enquire about the health of swine flu positive students quarantined there told reporters.
Seven students after their return here from an education trip to the US, tested positive for swine flu on Monday. Just a day later five others belonging to the same group were hospitalised after they developed symptoms of the disease.
The 12 were part of a group of 30 students and three teachers who had gone on an education trip to NASA in the US recently. Ze
